Global Outreach programs offer potential hosts many benefits. Participants on our Agriculture Internship Program are highly motivated, have previous education or practical experience in your field of agriculture or horticulture, and can provide immediate benefits to your organization.
In most cases, participants are current university students who are eager to learn more about your operation while improving their agricultural skills. Participants contribute valuable talent to your business. They have experience, education, and an interest in what you do.
These interns are ready to focus on your business when they arrive at your doorstep because they have:
- Job skills and interests that match your needs
- Two years of experience working in an agricultural field or at least two years of agricultural education at the postsecondary level
- A positive attitude and sincere desire to suceed within your business
- The ability to communicate in English
- Learned basic skills for living in the United States through an extensive orientation
- Continued support from Global Outreach staff

- Get to know your needs. Armed with this information, we connect you with a skilled intern who can contribute to your business.
- Verify that intern applicants have outstanding skills, valuable experience, and a positive attitude.
- Coordinate all visas and other paperwork, including medical insurance coverage.
- Prepare all interns for life in the United States during a three-day, comprehensive orientation session.

- Communicate with interns and business contacts to ensure satisfaction and handle any adjustment issues.
- Provide a newletter with tips for a successful internship.

- Provide on-the-job training activities that match your trainee's interests
- Provide minimum monthly stipend of $800 plus room and board (ensure compliance with Federal Minimum Wage Standards)
- Provide opportunities for your trainee to get involved with your community and interact with industry contacts
- Pay the CTA fee of $60 per month to Global Outreach
- Be sensitive to the needs of your trainee and understand that as a young person far from their home country that they may experience numerous challenges during their program
- Communicate with Global Outreach on a regular basis regarding the hosting experience and your trainee's progress
